Hello Dear Woman,
When my life turned upside down twelve years ago, I didn’t know I was a shero. I didn’t know what strength or courage I had, what level of resilience. In fact, I would have argued for my limitations. I would have insisted that paralysis would destroy me. It was, after all, my greatest, conscious fear.
And after it happened, even once I’d begun to experience the magic it held for me personally, I had no idea the role my journey would play for others. Who could imagine the effect – the healing, the transformation? Certainly, not me. I was probably the most surprised.
And yet, a shero I was, and a shero’s journey had begun.
I say this because I’m imagining you. If you’re in the middle of something gnarly, you’re probably not thinking of yourself as a shero. You’re probably doing your best to get through it but you wonder about your ability. You feel insecure, vulnerable, not like some Amazon charging bravely into the night.
And whether you’re in the middle of it or you’re several years past it now, you might not realize the extraordinary potential of the journey, the exquisite medicine available for you AND for your community. You may not realize the power you hold as the shero you are. God knows, I didn’t.
But now that I do, I am holding that for you. Because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that that challenge, the one you’re in or the one that happened a few years back, is your shero’s journey and YOU are the shero of that story. It is your dance with the dragon that yields the medicine. And we all need that medicine.
So please accept my heartfelt invitation to join the Shero Summit. We offer these stories as a mirror for you, that no matter your circumstance, you might see the magnificence that is you -- the shero -- and say YES, to your purpose, your life, your shero’s journey.
